Fathers day is nearing , what better occasion to make moustache cake pops !!!
The cake pop recipe on my blog is the most loved recipe ever! And although cake pops is a LOT of work, its fun for kids to eat!
I wanted to make the cake as well as the colors pretty “daddy centric”
So instead of making a vanilla or chocolate cake, I chose to use my RED VELVET cake recipe , instead I made it blue velvet. So you would just substite 1 tbsp red food coloring for 1 tbsp blue food coloring.
I dont like candy melts so I have used Callebaut white chocolate with gel food coloring for the coating.
Lets get down to business, lets make some super cool cake POPS FOR THE POP!!!
Take acetate sheet or butter paper . Draw mustache on another paper, and keep it under the acetate sheet.
Melt dark chocolate or milk chocolate. In microwave at 50% power for 1 minute( 30 sec bursts)
Put the melted chocolate in piping bag and pipe the moustaches.
Keep them aside to set and dry.
Making cake pops
Instead of using dark chocolate I have used white chocolate with food color( candy color or gel color. You cant use liquid food color since chocolate will sieze)
Once the mustaches are set, start to coat the cake balls in the white chocolate melted . And stick the moustaches onto them.
Tada, your Fathers Day special Blue velvet Cake pops are done!!! Absolutely precious gift for a dad, he will love!!!!
I also piped our names for fun
Wishing all the dads out there, a very very happy fathers day !!
