DIY Christmas cards with kids

Dec 10, 2012 5 Comments by

I always try to squeeze out time to do some kind of art and craft activity with Zoey. Admist a very hectic schedule at work place ( really hectic these days) , this activity was indeed a stress buster, and we had fun making these awesome and totally adorable Christmas cards.

When I started hunting for ideas to make Christmas cards with Zoey ( 3 yrs old ) , I was wanting to keep it simple, so that we dont sweat over making it, and she could easily participate. Getting fancy card stock can be quite daunting in India, especially if you are trying to get them from the nearest stationery stock, hence I kept it simple with a few colored hand made paper, glitter pens and glitter glue, some ribbons .

Heres what you need

Red color handmade card stock

Green color handmade card stock

3d glitter glue ( fevicryl)

Ribbons.

Pattern Scissors.

Regular Scissors

and glue

Method

Cut out 5″ Circles of green stock. I used the wave pattern scissor . I got an entire set of 6 scissors for Rs 160 ! These come in a variety of shapes like these. They should be available at any stationery shop, since I got mine at a very humble nearest school supplies store. Cut these circles into half. Each half will give you one tree

Now Cut out red colored cards ( squares)

Follow the video to fold your semi circles using napkin fold to make folded Christmas trees.

Once you have your trees ready, use the 3d glitter tube to dress up your folded trees with some glitter!

Stick the trees onto the card.

You can get crafty make small and big trees, different colored trees. If you have pattern paper with 2 different pattern sides, even better!

Make bows out of ribbons and stick them onto your finished card.

Write your message on the backside. Thats all! Your Christmas cards are done!
